Characteristic and complex
Kékfrankos (also known as Blaufränkisch) is the most planted black grape variety in Hungary. It has its own personality, a true ’hungaricum’. An extremely versatile wine: it can be consumed young – then it is full of sour cherry and other red fruits –, but it is suitable for barrel ageing as well. Teleki Villányi Kékfrankos follows the lighter, frutier path though it is matured in large wooden cask for a while, which makes it more full bodied, more complex. On the palate it feels almost velvety, and its aftertaste lingers on for a long time in our mouth. An ideal match with dishes made of duck breast and perfect with typical Hungarian dishes.
